Our Application Process Qualifies For The Best Manufacturer Warranties In The Industry
Should a customer want a NDL (No Dollar Limit) warranty over a standard warranty the following is important. In order for our silicone roof coating systems to qualify for a manufacturer's no dollar limit commercial warranty we have to adhere to a strict testing, preparation, installation and inspection protocol. Our experience along with our silicone manufacturer partner’s technical representation and oversight ensures the highest quality finished product for your commercial, industrial, or residential building. Here is our process.
Step 1: After the roof has been determined to be a silicone roof restoration candidate the deck surface is cleaned thoroughly.
Step 2: Once the deck is completely dry, often allowed to sit for a day or two in direct sun, the surfaces to be protected with silicone are primed with a two part catalyst primer.
Step 3: After the primer has dried it is now ready for silicone. Thicker fiberized versions of silicone are used around pipes and on pointed corners of curbs. Once that has cured then the normal viscosity silicone is applied at the proper number of gallons per roof square (100sf). Wet material measurements are constantly taken to ensure the even application and proper thickness of the silicone.
Step 4: Seam Seal -After cleaning and catalyst primer application but before we can apply the silicone coating our next step is to utilize seam seal. Seam Seal is applied on outside corners of mechanical curbs, around pipes, around sheet metal vents and where any dissimilar roof components are. Seam Seal provides a thicker stronger membrane in these areas.
Step 5: Applying the silicone: The next step is to apply the silicone. We will apply either a white, grey or tan silicone product depending on your energy goals and needs. The thickness of the product is measured in wet and dry mils and is applied to the thickness chosen by customer.
Step 6: NDL Warranty Inspection-If you opt to have a (NDL) system warranty a representative from the manufacturer will perform a site visit and inspection on the roof prior to starting. They check for any unusual areas, sub-deck damage to be corrected, etc. After roof membrane application a final inspection happens to see that all was done correctly . They are primarily checking for thickness in different areas of the roof to ensure that the thickness meets the warranty standard
for the roof warranty. |
